Terms, refunds and cancellation
These terms cover website design and build work provided by Websites Fast (“Websites Fast”, “I”, “me”), a sole proprietorship operating in the United States. Paying an invoice or a payment link for this work means you accept these terms.
What is being sold
A one time website design and build service. Unless your written quote says otherwise, a standard project covers up to five pages, a custom design, page copy written for you, a contact form, basic on page search setup, changes folded in during the build, and launch to a domain you own.
Changes folded in during the build means changes to the text, photos, layout and design of the pages already agreed, made while the site is being built and before it goes live. It does not mean additional pages, new features, or restarting the design in a different direction. Anything outside the agreed scope is quoted in writing and agreed before it is built, and changes requested after the site is live are billed per round as set out below.
This is a service, not a subscription. There is no recurring charge, no maintenance plan and no ongoing fee of any kind.
Price and payment
- Option A: $550 USD paid in full before work begins.
- Option B: $600 USD total, split as $300 USD before work begins and $300 USD after you approve the finished site, due before the site is pointed to your live domain.
- Rush delivery: an optional flat $150 USD added to either option, agreed before work begins, for delivery within five to eight business days instead of the standard seven to ten.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Work on your project starts once the first payment clears.
Changes requested after launch are billed at $75 USD per round, not hourly. A round means every change you send in a single batch, handled together. Additional pages or new features beyond what your quote covers are estimated in writing and agreed before any extra work is done. Out of pocket costs such as a paid theme, licensed photography or a domain registration are billed separately at cost.
Refunds and cancellation
The first payment is non refundable once work has begun. It pays for the hours spent on discovery, design and build before you ever see the site. This is the case whether the first payment is the full $550 or the $300 that starts a split project.
- Before work begins. If you cancel before I have started, your payment is refunded in full.
- After work begins. The first payment is not refundable. You may cancel at any time and you will owe nothing further, but amounts already paid are not returned.
- After the site is delivered. Once the finished site is on your preview link, the work has been done and no payment is refundable. If part of it does not match the scope we agreed, I fix it. Fixing it is the remedy, not a refund.
- The balance on a split project. The final $300 is due when the finished site is delivered and matches the scope we agreed. Asking for changes that sit inside that scope does not postpone it: I make the changes and the payment is still due. Approval is a checkpoint before launch, not a decision about whether to pay for work already done.
- If you go quiet. If you do not respond within seven days of delivery, the site is treated as approved and the balance becomes due.
- If I cannot finish. If I am unable to complete your project for any reason on my end, you receive a full refund of everything you have paid, including the first payment.
Chargebacks. If something is wrong, contact me first, because nearly everything is fixable and fixing it is faster than a dispute. A chargeback raised after a site has been delivered will be answered with these terms as accepted at checkout, the delivered site, the preview link records and our correspondence. Until every payment has cleared, the site stays on my preview link, it is not pointed at your domain, no logins are handed over, and no licence to use the design or the written content is granted.
To cancel or ask about a refund, email signup@getwebsitesfast.com or call (417) 262-8489. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within five to ten business days.
Timeline
You receive a private preview link to a working version of your site within 72 hours of my receiving your content, meaning your text details, photos and logo. Most projects then go live within seven to ten business days from that same starting point. With the $150 rush added, that window becomes five to eight business days.
Both the 72 hour preview and the delivery window are counted from when your content arrives, not from when you pay, and both depend on feedback coming back during the build. Delays on your side move the delivery date and are not grounds for a refund, and a rush fee is not refunded when the delay is on your side.
Approval and launch
When the site is finished I ask you to confirm in writing, by text or email, that you approve it. A reply saying “approved” is enough. That message is what releases the site to your domain, and it is the record both of us rely on if a question ever comes up about what was agreed and delivered. Nothing is pointed at your domain and no logins are handed over before it exists. If seven days pass with no reply, the site is treated as approved and the balance becomes due.
What I need from you
Your business details, service list, photos and any logo files, plus timely responses while the build is underway. If a project goes quiet for more than thirty days, it is treated as cancelled under the terms above and can be restarted later at the then current rate.
Ownership
Ownership passes on full payment, not before. Once final payment clears, you own the finished website: the design, the page content produced for you, and the files. Before that point you are looking at work you have not yet paid for in full, and no right to use, copy or publish it is granted. If a cleared payment is later reversed, that ownership ends with it. Your domain and hosting are registered in your name from the start and are never held by me. Any third party fonts, photography or code keep their own licenses, which carry over to you. I may show the finished site as an example of my work unless you ask me in writing not to.
Hosting and domain
Hosting for a site this size is normally free through Netlify and is set up in your name. A domain typically costs $12 to $20 USD per year, paid by you directly to the registrar. These are third party services with their own terms and are not part of the price above.
Limits
The site is delivered working and tested. I am not responsible for search rankings, traffic, leads, sales, or for problems caused by later changes made by you or anyone else, by third party services going down, or by domain or hosting accounts lapsing. Total liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the amount you paid for that project.
Disputes
If something is wrong, contact me first. Nearly everything gets sorted out with a phone call. These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Websites Fast operates.
